Last Saturday we attended the Grand Opening of The People’s
Café & Djournal Coffee, this is their first outlet that open outside the
mall and it’s also the first outlet collaboration between both of them. This
outlet is located in World Trade Centre. If you sit in TPC you can order a
drink from Djournal Coffee, and the other way round. They are under the same
holding company which is ISMAYA. Thank you for the hospitality The People’s Café & Djournal Coffee!
We tried several ISMAYA’s food & beverages chain
restaurant and we personally love all their restaurants chain. We often pass by The People’s Café Grand Indonesia but every
time we wanted to try, it’s super packed inside. Well we both like more quite space to spend some Qtime together so yeah..
A little bit about The People’s Café & Djournal Coffee.
The People’s Café (Next will be mention as TPC) serves local street food, but with a modern touch. They food
range from NACHOS, FISH AND CHIPS to BUBUR AYAM KOTA and MIE TEK TEK. While Djournal Coffee serves coffee based latte, blended, cakes and pastry.
When you walked inside you will pass the coffee bar, you can see some pastry and cakes there also a sitting area facing the other WTC building and parking area. This is a smoking area.

Djournal sitting area |
Walking to TPC area this area is spacious enough to hold around 60 pax seating. TPC have smoking and non smoking area, but both area is just side to side. perhaps a early visit would help if you didn't want to get smoky.

Differ from the Djournal decoration, TPC offer more "local" ambiance with some local spices and that famous bakmi bowl.
Personally really like how ISMAYA do their decoration and they are super creative with words. Okay enough of blabbering. Let's start with Djournal drinks that we tried, Red Velvet Latte & Salted Caramel Latte. This are our two favorite since the first time we tried it.

Piccolo coffee (front) |
|
Hot Red Velvet Latte - 49k |
Red Velvet latte it's a combination between vanilla chocolate and a bit of coffee. This one taste like red velvet cake that we usually eat, It's has a beautiful color with a creamy flavored. This menu is perfect for a beginner coffee drinker
|
Iced Salted Caramel Latte |
Well another recommended menu is Salted Caramel Latte (not only by us but by other blogger too), in this menu you can taste stronger coffee, but don't worry their coffee is the one that leave a strong after taste, dominant flavor of salted caramel.
|
Half Eaten Chicken Popcorn (front), Mac & Cheese and Mie Tek Tek |
Moving to TPC menu, we tried appetizer, main course but didn't try any dessert because we're too full already, maybe because we drink too much.
|
Popcorn Chicken - 35k |
One thing about this popcorn chicken is that the chicken and the flour is just right. you can definitely feel the bite size chicken, and not too much flour.
|
Fried Mac n Cheese - 35k |
|
Fried Mac n Cheese - 35k |
For the mac and cheese, it's pretty golden brown and taste good but we expect that we can pull the cheese. In our opinion we think that they put too little cheese that's why we can't pull it.
|
Nachos with Chili Con Carne - 35k |
|
Nasi Uduk Rendang Sapi - 60k |
|
Nasi Goreng Gila - 42k |
|
Nasi Goreng Gila - 42k |
|
Nasi Goreng Gila - 42k |
This one is the famous street food that you can find nearly everywhere, they usually sell it with a cart with "NASI GORENG (GILA)" or in a tent. Nasi Goreng Gila have spiciness level, you can choose from 'newbie', 'tourist', local' or 'crazy'. Newbie means not spicy at all and crazy stands for super spicy. Nasi Goreng Gila is also one of recommended menu.
|
Mie Goreng Tek Tek - 35k |
|
Mie Goreng Tek Tek - 35k |
|
Mie Goreng Tek Tek - 35k |
Another people favorite! Mie Tek Tek is another menu that they sell in the "Nasi Goreng" cart. Nasi goreng mostly known for it spiciness while Mie Tek Tek is more of the sweetness. TPC's Mie Tek Tek reminds me of the one around Gading serpong area, and the plue point it's not too sweet, unlike the other restaurant that we ever visit and ehem.. their mie tek tek is way tooooo sweet.
|
Mie Ireng Dori |
|
Crispy Chicken Burger - 48k |
We also tried TPC drink menu, which is Mango Freeze and Mighty O'Milo. We didn't took a picture of the mango one because they serves it in a plastic glass, and it just not good for a pictures. Suppose that they serves it in an actual glass, but we didn't know what happen. The Mango Freeze taste good tho.
|
Mighty O' Milo - 38k |
Mighty O'Milo it's a blended
TPC have a BREAKFAST PACKAGE only
