Pates Indonesia - Muara Karang

It's been a couple week since our visit to pates Indonesia. We've been busy with final thesis, and last weekend we're in Bandung for a family event. We'll post about what we ate in Bandung soon on Instagram, wait for it :p

Back to the main topic Pâtes Indonesia. In french Pâtes means PASTA, so Pates Indonesia stand for Indonesian Pasta! Located in a main street of Muara Karang (align with superindo).

Not really a big place because of the location, it can fit up to 30 people, and as you notice the owner it's in charge of everything, from taking orders, cooking to serving. Surprisingly to me the owner is all guys and they can cook. If you're wondering, they serve non halal food too.

We tried appetizer, their signature pasta menu, and not to forget their newest addition to the menu. read more below to find out more.

For starter we had Parmesan fries. Who doesn't like fries? Cooking fries might be tricky sometimes, even for a restaurant. This one just get into the list of my favorite fries. It's not too oily, still crispy and not too salty. The Parmesan also add some cheesy salty flavor. Damn mouth-watering!

Garlic Bread - 15k

The second appetizer I tried is Garlic Bread, it's fragrant buttery but it's hard to chew especially the outer corner of the bread. Good thing is it taste like Pizza ***'s. Yes that's a good thing, and I think that could be a room for an improvement.

Let's get into the main star, their PASTA. Their bringing pasta with an Indonesian twist. You can see here they used the most common pasta, Spaghetti and fettuccine.

Pasta Sambal Balado - 32k

The first pasta I tried is Pasta Sambal Balado. If you've been following me for awhile I ever mention that I don't eat spicy food? eheheh I ate them if the restaurant require me to review their product. This pasta reminds me of Aglio Olio, but with a bit hint of spiciness. It's okay to my palate as I avoid those chili chunk. I personally suggest that you add some 'protein' topping to this pasta.

Pasta Gulai Ayam - 32k

I like this one! My second favorite pasta here, Pasta Gulai Ayam. Remind with with Padang dish with a twist, instead of rice I have pasta as he carbs. Padang lovers should definitely try this one!

Pasta Cabe Ijo - 32k

Pasta Cabe Ijo, I expected a spicy taste when this goes in my mouth but turn out it's sweet at the beginning and slowly burn my tongue at the end. :(

Pasta Ala Rendang

Almost at my favorite part, this one was the best pasta. I dine in with 3 of my friends and they all agreed that Pasta Ala Rendang was the BEST one! Authentic rich in flavor rendang paste with generous amount of rendang meat (and by the way it's surprisingly chewy). I will be back for this!

Best of the best dish, Aromatic rice with babi rica. Their babi rica is the main star, well seasoned pork its fragrant and very rich flavor of rica-rica. PS enjoy it while hot!

Overall our meal was awesome! friendly owner, fast serving, and yummy food! I will defenetely be back for more Pasta Ala Rendang dan Aromatic Rice with Babi Rica!
